dbTEU: a protein database of trace element utilization
نویسندگان
چکیده
UNLABELLED Biological trace elements are required for numerous biological processes and by all organisms. We describe a database, dbTEU (DataBase of Trace Element Utilization), that features known transporters and user proteins for five trace elements (copper, molybdenum, nickel, cobalt and selenium) and represents sequenced organisms from the three domains of life. The manually curated dbTEU currently includes approximately 16,500 proteins from >700 organisms, and offers interactive trace element, protein, organism and sequence search and browse tools. AVAILABILITY AND IMPLEMENTATION dbTEU is freely available at http://gladyshevlab.bwh.harvard.edu/trace_element/

Background: The aim of present study was to estimate the levels of some Trace element (Lead, Copper, Cobalt, Chromium, and Cademium) concentrations in Asthenospermia and Normospermia by atomic absorption method, in comparison with control (Fertile), Estimate concentration of (MDA) Malondialdehyde and Total protein concentration in semen specimens. Also relationships between mentioned components ...
متن کاملThe New Progresses in Zn Requirements of Poultry
There were no considerable up to date on the trace element requirements of commercial poultry in recent years in despite of the progress in their performance traits. One of the more prevalent problems in modern broiler production system which could be attributed to the trace mineral inadequacy is skeletal disorders. Zinc, is an essential trace element which acts as a co-factor in several metalo...
متن کاملThe influence of a slow-release multi-trace element ruminal bolus on trace element status, number of ovarian follicles and pregnancy outcomes in synchronized Afshari ewes
Published data on the effects of ruminal bolus on the number of ovulatory follicles in ewes does not exist. The present study determined the effects of a ruminal bolus on trace element status, follicular dynamics and reproductive performance in ewes. Eighty Afshari cycling ewes were synchronized during breeding season using CIDR for 14 days and assigned to 4 groups (n=20); group 1 received a si...
متن کاملTrends in Selenium Utilization in Marine Microbial World Revealed through the Analysis of the Global Ocean Sampling (GOS) Project
Selenium is an important trace element that occurs in proteins in the form of selenocysteine (Sec) and in tRNAs in the form of selenouridine. Recent large-scale metagenomics projects provide an opportunity for understanding global trends in trace element utilization. Herein, we characterized the selenoproteome of the microbial marine community derived from the Global Ocean Sampling (GOS) expedi...
متن کاملOutlier Rejection in Massive Trace Element Data for Geographical Origin Identification System of Vegetables
As the result of establishment of brands for some farming districts in Japan, it is a big social issue that agricultural products of which geographical origins are camouflaged. To solve this problem, we have proposed a distributed system that identifies cultivated places of vegetables by using their trace element content as coresearch with agricultural chemists. This system records trace elemen...
